KSRI publishes comprehensive study in the field of Knowledge Intensive Services (15.12.)

The study bases on an empirical research within more than 270 companies with regard to the current practice of procurement of knowledge instensive services. The results show important insights for the further development of innovative procurement concepts. Knowledge Intensive Services (e. g. consultancy services) are a major challenge for the procurement departments. On the one hand cheap but inadequate services result in the failure of projects; on the other hand the lack of comparability and transparency both inhibit the implementation of potential savings.
Managers in procurement departments estimate that potential cost savings between 15 -20 percent are possible under the condition that the same market transparency as available in case of goods could also be achieved with knowledge intensive services. Further results of the study are available here.   more
